TOS097 Our Lady of Guadalupe (Part 2) The Codex of the Tilma

Truth of the Spirit hosted by Patti Brunner brings you a remarkable description of the miraculous cloak of Juan Diego in Our Lady of Guadalupe  Part 2 – The Codex of the Tilma.  Since the Aztecs had no written language, the miraculous image was like a book or codex to those who understood the Aztec culture.  Juanita Salazar Lamb takes us on a journey of the images on the Tilma, explaining the message of the Blessed Virgin Mary, under her title of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  The image of Our Lady of Guadalupe was given not just the Aztecs on December 12, 1531, but to all generations who continue to gaze upon it.

Juanita Salazar Lamb describes the four encounters of Juan Diego with Our Lady of Guadalupe on Truth of the Spirit with the episode Intro to Our Lady of Guadalupe and Juan Diego Part 1.  The Blessed VirginMary appeared in 1531 in Mexico on Tepeyac Hill to an Aztec Christian peasant between December 9th and 12th and left behind a sign for all to see, even to this day, with instructions to share it with the Bishop Juan de Zummaraga in Tlatelolco. Included in this series on Our Lady of Guadalupe will be #2 The Codex of the Tilma, #3 the Music of the Tilma, and #4 Conversions through the Sign of the Tilma.   Host is Patti Brunner.

Juanita Salazar Lamb graduated with a master’s degree with a thesis topic of “La Virgen de Guadalupe in Chicano Popular Culture: Images in Art and Literature” in 2003.  She has a diploma from the Instituto Superior de Estudios Guadalupanos Basilica de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe for the advancement of Guadeloupian studies in Mexico City headed by Msgr. Eduardo Chavez, the lead investigator for the canonization of Juan Diego. This became Lamb’s biggest resource with more than 30,000 documents concerning the 2002 canonization of St. Juan Diego.

Final episode of the series “Healing the Family #6 – Men &Women” with host Patti Brunner.  For the ‘Men & Women’ episode we call upon St. Pope John Paul II’s teaching on the Theology of the Body.  Male and female human beings were designed to not only be partners but to be the image of the Trinity as children are conceived and life goes forth into the world.  Men and women are created with a spirit capable of joining with the Holy Spirit and so their union must be held as sacred.  Even among unmarried people their sexuality is still considered sacred.  The family was created in the image of the Holy Trinity and Satan hates this.  Satan has turned to fight against the human sexuality of created gender.  Destruction of the family is Satan’s goal.  St. Joseph did not allow lust to take root as he noticed the Virgin Mary’s inner and outer beauty.  The media today belittles the male role models of the family as stupid and lust-filled.  So what is the remedy when confusion reigns in your family?  Can purity be restored?
