Whenever you hear the sounding of the trumpet you know that action is to be taken: call to battle, call to prayer, or call to assembly. This I tell you truly, the days shall not be complete until the Son of Man appears upon the horizon to gather the people of God into the waiting arms of the Father. Fear not! Such a day shall be for the Glory of God and will be a day of rejoicing for those who love the Lord and call on his name. This is her Word from the Lord to share with you this season:  Pray!  Pray, pray.  This word has been given several times in history in times such as ours.  Truth of the Spirit encourages you pray for yourself and others so to give glory to God and serve your brothers and sisters in Christ. Be forgiving towards the mistakes and weakness and failings of those around you and of your own.  Jesus’ forgiveness is an example to follow.  “Father, forgive them; they know not what they do.” Pray! Ask God to lead them along the pathways of justice and righteousness.

Truth of the Spirit episode ‘Recognizing God’s Voice’ hosted by Patti Brunner provides several spiritual exercises for listening to the Lord.  Please know that the Lord wants you to hear his voice.  Mostly it is the ability to discern God’s voice that the people need help—He speaks to you all the time.  If you do not spend time getting to know the Lord in prayer and sacred scripture you cannot recognize his voice.  You know the voice of family members because you hear them often when you know it’s them.  It’s the same thing with the Lord.  We can become most familiar with God’s voice by reading scripture.  Also refers to episodes:  TOS029 “Praying the Scriptures” with Ken Hunter and TOS053: Basics of Faith I –  Basics of Using the Catechism.
