The purpose of this series is to allow God’s people to know that He loves them and to prepare them for the coming of Christ into their hearts. This is Truth of the Spirit’s Invitation to Advent Pearls–Daily Prophetic Words to Prepare the Way of the Lord. I am Patti Brunner.
In Paragraph 2567 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church it states that: “The living and true God tirelessly calls each person to that mysterious encounter known as prayer. In prayer, the faithful God’s initiative of love always comes first; our own first step is always a response. As God gradually reveals Himself and reveals man to himself, prayer appears as a reciprocal call, a covenant drama. Through words and actions, this drama engages the heart.”
You are invited to “engage your heart” and join us daily during the four weeks of Advent as Truth of the Spirit reads prophetic meditations from the Lord provided through personal revelation. They are not intended as doctrine. They are a love letter to you from the Lord. Each day will lift you up to the arms of Jesus. Place yourselves in His care. Combine your heart with His. The Holy Spirit will guide you in His Ways. Listen to Him. Listen and be fed by the Word that comes through the ages to you as one who loves the Lord with all his mind, heart and soul. Listen to the Lord and you shall be free to enter His Kingdom.
We invite you to participate in these special presentations as a preparation or daily retreat. We invite you to turn your face to the Lord. Seek His presence in your lives. Reach out to Him in prayer and supplication. Continue to walk in His ways; if you do not know the Way, learn it; if you cannot find the Way, ask for help; if you cannot follow the Way, repent. Grace is a communication of God’s love upon your life.
The Advent journey is not a steady hike but will have hills and valleys for you. Although the liturgical setting for Advent takes place the four weeks before Christmas, anytime is a good time to search for Advent Pearls. These Advent meditations are arranged by the liturgical sequence according to the Roman Catholic Church. Scriptural excerpts of the Bible readings assigned to daily Mass during the Advent season, provided by the Lectionary of the New Roman Missal, are included. There are certain feasts and solemnities that preempt the regular readings of the day that follow a specific calendar date. Readings of the last week before Christmas begin with December 17 take precedence over other assigned daily readings.
St. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 14:1, “Pursue love and strive for the spiritual gifts, and especially that you may prophesy.”
To “prophesy” means to hear the voice of God and share it with others. The Lord encourages all His children to come to know him. For it is in knowing God that true salvation is found. It is in knowing Him that allows the Kingdom to come and to be shared with others. You are hearing these words because the Lord has chosen you to hear them. They are His gift to you – a gift of pearls. Accept His Advent Pearls and see how much He loves you.
The Lord says to you, “My child, fear not moments of truth. I have spoken truth to man through the ages as my Sacred Heart has been more deeply revealed to my beloved people. When the nations turn from truth, the people who remain faithful shall bring forward truth and peace.”
