Day 34. Welcome to Truth of the Spirit. I am your host, Patti Brunner. This is day 34 of “Daily Meditations for Lent”. Today we will share a few personal revelations given on Monday of the 5th week of Lent for you to discern and some Scriptures as well to help you grow “in closeness to the Lord through truth, repentance, and the word of God moving into fullness within your heart.”
As we continue with the 5th week of Lent, have you found it easier to recognize your sin? Our sin, my sins, are always on the scale yet one drop of the precious blood of Jesus outweighs them. The Lord is our refuge and our hope. We pray that all people turn to Him in repentance and thus do not await His wrath but implore His Mercy.
I heard the Lord say on Monday of the 5th week of Lent, “My Child, the greatest banner of love cloaks the darkness, hiding you from fear, hiding you from dissolution and despair. The goodness of the Lord does reveal the wickedness of the people, not to point blame, but to call to mind awareness so that repentance may preclude the punishment at judgment. Fear not,” The Lord said, “yet do everything to save those assigned to you. The concerns of the people are generally short-sighted: ‘What am I to wear, to eat, to spend, to sleep?’ The Lord your God has taken these concerns and provided with abundance. The other deeper issues: ‘Who am I to love? Who am I to be?’ are deeply rooted in the unique creation and Will of the Father. The continuance of life, itself draws upon free will choices of these two questions.”
As we continue into the 5th week of Lent, have extra sacrifices worn you down? The Lord shared this on Monday of the 5th week, “My child as your tiredness needs refreshing, so do the others who minister in my Kingdom. As winter dissolves and spring breaks through, so shall the Spirit breakthrough hardened hearts. Just as nature finds a way to expose itself in the new growth of the person, so shall My Spirit rise up—like sap—in the hearts and minds of my people. Do not distress, take comfort my people; take joy. For nature is a shadow, an image of the working of God and so shall the fruitfulness of summer show the fruitfulness of those who have turned their hearts and minds unto the Lord their God.”
The Lord spoke this, “My Child, My child, as love speaks healing shall take place. Remind my children of my love for them. As they step inside their pain I shall be at their side—just as I have always been.”
The Lord then said, “Consider the works of their hands. As they share the bountiful harvest they give Me Glory. When a person is disabled, the interference can cause a reduction in the harvest due to the lack of ability to physically exert; the same can be said of the spiritual. When we are clogged with sin the Spirit cannot manifest a bountiful harvest.
“The (next) third example is more delicate.” The Lord asked, “What limits a heart that has repented and received reconciliation? It is the heart that is scarred by pain and hurt.” The Lord says, “As you study my Word you shall unlock the locked heart. As hurts, sorrows and shameful memories surface the light of love shall heal them and the people shall be truly set free.” Sounds good, doesn’t it!The Lord told me to “Look to the scripture to find the wounded heart.” Then He guided me to Chapter 11 of the Gospel of Luke.
Chapter 11 begins with the Lord’s Prayer. All the Church can find solace, hope, the joy of praise, and repentance in the petitions as we are allowed to call God “our Father”. Jesus explains the benefit of perseverance in prayer; it helps us to realize when the Lord delays in granting our petitions the delay is for our benefit.
I heard the Lord say on Monday of 5th week of Lent, “My Children, ask for wisdom – I give it. Ask for objectivity with the single-mindedness of the mind of Jesus – I give it. Ask for love to emanate to all who approach the Holy Ground of the God almighty, and I will consecrate it. Dedicate your lives to me. Continue to strive for excellence. Continue to seek and pray and discover the Will of God and to bring the will of the people into compliance. When you are in an impasse—ask for my help. Ask the question—‘What would Jesus do?’”
In Luke Chapter 11, Jesus says this, “9 And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 11 What father among you would hand his son a snake when he asks for a fish? 12 Or hand him a scorpion when he asks for an egg? 13 If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?“
Sometimes we are bound up by spiritual forces that we have entertained due to sin. In Luke Chapter 11 verses 14-23 the Lord gets rid of the “strongman”. He can drive them out with his little finger[i]! In Luke Chapter 11 verses 27-28 the Lord calls us to holiness as He says, “More blessed still are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
Before we leave Chapter 11 of Luke, we invite you to read verses 34 to 36 substituting the word “attitude” for the word “eye” and find the richness of this passage. “The lamp of the body is your eye [?, your attitude]. When your eye [?, attitude] is sound, then your whole body is filled with light, but when [attitude] (it) is bad, then your body is in darkness. Take care, then, that the light in you not become darkness. If your whole body is full of light, and no part of it is in darkness, then it will be as full of light as a lamp illuminating you with its brightness.”
The Lord said on a Monday the 5th week of Lent, “My child, in the event you need to know these things to be able to teach or defend your faith you will be given the insight you request. For now know that Mother Mary is the treasury of graces that can be released when she is petitioned through the rosary and other prayerful requests.”
