Welcome to Truth of the Spirit. I am your host, Patti Brunner. Today is day 7 of our series “Daily Meditations for Lent – Lenten Logos, it’s the Tuesday of first week of Lent. Each day during Lent we will share personal revelation and meditation from those logos, those words from the Lord.
I heard the Lord say, “Dear one, continue to search for the truth. It is in the truth you will find Me. It is in the love that you will know Me. It is in the giving that you will share Me with others. I have not abandoned you, and I never will. At times, there will be tests that are allowed only to strengthen you. Even here, even now, I have let you be tested. Do not be distressed. My Spirit dwells with you and in you and protects you from all evil. Evil will try to penetrate, but since you are filled with My Spirit, he cannot deceive you, but must manifest himself to you so that you might know his face and dispel him to the foot of the cross. I will never forget you my people. You are in the palm of my hand. I love and cherish you, forever. Continue to think and pray, listen and write and learn. I go before you always and you may follow My Light to see the path.
“What I say directs a lifetime not a day. But each day matters. Show your brothers and sisters that I watch over them. Continue to seek the Lord and open your ears to hear my voice. I come so that all may have life – and have it abundantly. I give this abundance freely to you. Continue to accept it as you continue your journey.”
One time, as prayer teams ministered to the youth they were touched by the Holy Spirit. They rested in the Spirit and were given words of wisdom and knowledge and visions. Afterwards I heard the Lord say this, “My child, the dew fades slowly in the day the Lord has made. I am pleased. The joy of children as they delight in the blessing of the Lord gives Me praise and a release of My Glory to the people.
“Tinkling bells sound the delicate ring of the gentle breeze that now flows among the youth. Prepare! For, the days of the Lord are coming with a wind of power and of fire. No stone will be left unturned—all will be given a chance to open their hearts and allow the barriers to be overcome in Christ Jesus, the Lord. My cintas[i] show my goodness to the world, witness my joy, my love, my faithfulness. Continue, child, to reach into the darkness bringing my light among men.”
I heard the Lord say this, “My child, growth in the wilderness is stunted, but growth by the flowing Living Water is abundant. I rain down my Grace upon you. There are times of grace that are more ‘anointed’ than others but know this: I shower you constantly with my grace. But like so many others, at times you put up an ‘umbrella’ to keep the grace from penetrating. Lower the umbrella and put it away. Feel my grace upon your face and inside your heart. It will warm you, inspire you, lead and guide you.” St. Paul wrote to the Corinthians in his 2nd letter to them, Chapter 12 verse 9, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Lent is an excellent time to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Many Catholic parishes hold communal penance services with additional priests. Here is something the Lord taught me about examination of conscience to prepare for a good confession. The Lord said, “When the children look over their lives they shall be aware of the areas of sin. My presence within them as they make this journey reveals, gently, their sin. The people who are to be baptized need to know how to call upon my name for forgiveness. “And all my past life” covers a multitude of sin. Ask the children to consider:
When in my past life have I chosen to place myself before God?
Have I blasphemed the name of God—through habit or in anger?
Did I ridicule my parents and figures of authority?
Have I lied? Cheated? Caused bodily harm to others?
Have I desecrated the sanctity of my body through pornography, illicit sex, adultery?
Has jealousy or envy caused me to destroy others?
Have I refused God’s love and turned from Him?
The Lord said, “To heal the brokenhearted, the infirm, the desolate ask Me to bring healing and joy. You may use the forgiveness prayer. In forgiving a ‘little’ I shall forgive ‘much’.”
The Forgiveness Prayer was written by Fr. Robert DeGrandis[ii]. I love it. I’ll put a link to it on the Truth of the Spirit website of this episode. It calls to mind various actions and people that are likely to need forgiving.

[i] In Spanish “cinta” means “ribbon”, like a bow or a typewriter ribbon; we are the Lord’s banner to show his goodness. Cinta in the traditional Spanish language synonyms are: galga, espiguilla, hiladillo, escarapela, colonia, bocadillo, terciado.
