Welcome to Truth of the Spirit.  I am your host, Patti Brunner.  This is day 2 of our series “Daily Meditations for Lent” – Lenten Logos.   Each day during Lent we will share personal revelation and meditation upon those logos, those words from the Lord.

Have you already run into difficulty maintaining what you decided to do for Lent?  Do you feel disappointed or guilty? Praise God because He has begun to teach us a valuable lesson. The Lord tells us, If things come with ease they are not as easily appreciated.  Remember this pain the next time you are tempted to overtake a situation already in my hands,” says the Lord.  “It will sustain you as you avoid the interference.  I do not choose for pain to be a teacher, but it is effective.  I choose love.  Remember the love you have for the situation and all the people involved and then you also will have the strength to avoid the temptation.

Perhaps you are overwhelmed by temptation and fear.  The Lord told me, “The fears of this world are magnified in your mind, the fears of this world are magnified in the mind of all this generation, when there is a lack of true understanding of creation, of life and of death.”  The Lord says, “I have conquered death; and creation and life are my gifts to you.  They are good gifts and there is no darkness that is in them except by the effect of sin”.

The Lord said to me, “Be watchers in the night.  Bind the evil that lurks in the darkness, ever ready to attack every weakness.  The strong must help protect the weak.  The strong have been made so in faith, using the tools I have provided,” says the Lord. “Share the good news of the kingdom to the weak and thus the Body will grow in strength as they love and honor the Lord in all things in this life, in this world, and in the tomorrow promised in the ages of yesterday.”

Lord, we believe, help thou, our unbelief!  We can choose to bind the temptations sent by the enemy and release judgements against us and send these to you, Lord.  We know you have plans for us—not destruction but life.  Help us, Lord, to overcome all stress and effect of stress.  Listen to this response from the Lord, “My child in the everlasting evening, in the dawn of day, truth is revealed truth is known.  Come, my children, open your hearts to the fullness of the heritage which is yours.  Understanding your family, your “ancestors” in the story of salvation opens the eyes to see what has gone before.  As men choose, so history was written.  The “large picture” shows my faithfulness.  Discern truth as you peruse the settings of the scripture.  Man turned away often, yet I Am faithful.  When you seek the face of the Lord I Am found.  So, too, these ancient areas point out the places I was found by those who sought my help.  Take joy that I Am found in your life, in the obscure, in the distant, in the hidden and in the obvious.  Strength comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.  Walk in the pathway of life.  Fear not death or destruction.  The Lord says, “I Am the healer, your healer.  I Am the giver of life; I Am the One who loves you.”

The Lord invites us, as we study the Old Testament, as we see the brokenness of the people which caused them to turn away from God time after time, to also see the faithfulness of God.  God’s promise of salvation is fulfilled in Jesus.  We are like the ancient peoples; we still turn from God with broken hearts.  God is faithful.  He bids us to come to him, to return to him for forgiveness.

It is not difficult to share the Word of the Lord when you know it and know it to be true.

The Lord gave me this prayer for healing of the brokenhearted:

Heavenly Father, we come to you at this moment realizing that many things that we have done, and many things that have affected us, have caused us pain, suffering, and a loss of innocence.  We open our hearts to You and ask You to heal us.

  • For the times our parents have hurt us, forgive them, forgive us, heal us.
  • For the times lies have caused harm, forgive them, forgive us, heal us.
  • For rejection, forgive them, forgive us, heal us.
  • For doubt and lack of trust, forgive them, forgive us, heal us.
  • For bad choices, forgive them, forgive us, heal us.
  • For the effect of untimely deaths, forgive them, forgive us, heal us.
  • For words spoken in anger, forgive them, forgive us, heal us.
  • For the one thing that has hurt us the most spend some time remembering, write it on the palm of your hand with your finger, then lift your hand to Christ, forgive them, forgive us, heal us.

Thank you, Jesus, by your obedience to the will of the Father, even unto death, death on a cross, you have set us free.  By your stripes we are healed!  We invite you to fill us with your Holy Spirit.  We accept your grace.  We accept your joy.  We accept your peace.  Blessed is the name of the Lord who made heaven and earth, who heals the brokenhearted, who loves us so much.  Amen.

The Lord says to us, “My grace is sufficient for you.   I have you in the palm of my hand and I hold you dear to my heart.  Continue to grow and to work for those you love.  I will continue to bind you to Me, so that you may more clearly follow My Will.  Many people are unobservant in the words they speak and even in their prayers.    The children are obstinate and against sacrifice of their possessions.  They have no true trust in My Goodness.    I always listen to the prayers from the heart, and I hear those said otherwise, too.  Each has a place in the kingdom but may be answered differently.  Ask as if you had already received!  Do you know what that means?  Pray with faith my children.  When you ask in complete faith it is done.  Pray that each one allows faith to be increased within themselves.  By opening to my Holy Spirit, you open yourself to the fruits of the Kingdom.  Those fruits are gained by living your life on the path of righteousness.  Do not be complacent My children.  You must act to save yourselves and your children from the judgement given to sinners who do not repent.  The sins of omission are just as serious as the sins of ‘commission’.
