Truth of the Spirit with Patti Brunner presents Supply Stores of the Kingdom of God. Isn’t it time to stock up supplies? God can provide for all your needs. What is your cost? Are you called to be his Supply Agent?
BLOG
Pandemics, ice storms and hurricanes remind us that we need to ‘stock up’ because of the possibility of being unable to get what we need when we need it. We realize we are more vulnerable in these times. Yet there is something that can always supply all our needs and it is with us despite wind, ice and pestilence. It is the Supply Stores of the Kingdom of God.
Even if all your needs were met by the systems of the world you would need God—indeed, for the very breath you take is in the hands of the Father. All life is in his hands. Beyond life itself what need can compare? Yet the Father knows each strand of hair and each flake of dandruff; nothing passes His attention. It saddens Him when the children go “wanting” when the kingdom “stores” lie idle for lack of response to the gifts by the Father. Increase your prayer in all things. Expect “a lot” and even if you receive all that you ask for it shall be minute in proportion to what the Father has stored for you.
Welcome to Truth of the Spirit. I’m your host Patti Brunner. Today we’ll take a look at the “Supply Stores of the Kingdom of God”. I’ll be sharing with you some of what the Lord has supplied me.
The incredible grace that supplies splendor also set forth workers to share the opulence with those in need. Are you ready to be a “supply agent”? Those who can move mountains shall be able to bestow God’s blessings upon the people as directed by the Holy One. The anointing shall befall those who seek His face, who accept His Spirit and who reconcile. As two hearts are one, as the Father and Jesus are one so shall the world be one with them, not those “of” the world but those “in” the world who have turned their hearts and faces unto the Lord with joy, with compassion, beyond suffering; those who KNOW Him.
Who can be God’s supply agents? Certainly our priests who are ordained to distribute the sacraments to us! Who else? Those who receive these sacraments! Who else? Those who receive the supernatural gifts of grace called charisms and then use them to build up the body of Christ! Who else? Those who pray for others! Who else? Those who share whatever time, talent and treasures God has given!
What about being a “supply agent” for the Kingdom? Fear not. When God called Moses he had background but not training. When God called Paul he had passion but not understanding. When God called John, he had youth but not experience, When God called Martha and Mary, they had desire but not cultural approval. You see, the Lord calls those He will—not because of what you already have but for what you can receive. As you say yes, you can follow the steps of others who said yes; the Lord is the God of ‘Yes and done’. The God of “yes” and “Done”, not the God of “maybe” and “maybe”. Continue to surrender your heart to the Lord. He is more than enough.
God listens to your prayer for the nations, for your family, for yourself, and it pleases Him that you rely on His Mercy and kindness. Reliance comes from trust and hope. As you gain understanding of the kingdom you shall call upon Him even more.
The heavenly awaits the children on earth to take their rightful place at the feet of Jesus, the feet of the Father, to be gathered into his loving arms. Continue to seek the face of the Lord and you shall find Him. As for the gifts of the Spirit—those glory gifts—they have already been given. Accept them into your heart to manifest them. Only your own hesitation and blindness keeps them from you.
The Lord has given us an ocean of his mercy to draw upon. God’s Mercy knows no bounds. The depths of the oceans only hint at the magnitude. The Lord has put a billion dollars in your harvest account but you’re only putting out seed in checks of $.03 or $. 05.
The image of the Sacred Heart was given through grace to a soul who not only said “yes” but also said “please”. Ask and you shall receive. Knock and it shall be answered unto you. The incredible amount of grace that can be bestowed upon God’s children goes ‘wanting’ for lack of petition. Fewer and fewer of his people pray. Few ask for relief for the world. Few take the time to ask for intercession. As the world is corrupted by sin, all are affected in some way. Environment—spiritual especially, relationship, clear thinking, right order—each of these are affected by the blatant sin of the world. As you pray for the nations pray for an end to the effect of sin in these areas. Evil has been overcome. It is finished. Remember this as you left these needs unto your Savior.
The continuing storm of heaven, of the prayers of the faithful ones, continues to ask for changes to take place in their loved ones. God hears every prayer and He provides the grace to all free will to embrace the Lord’s changes that bring them into His fullness. When you intercede for others, it is always the Will of God that is considered versus the will of man. Yet, as you continue in persistence, allowances are made and petitions are granted as His Sovereign Will steps into the lives of His children. He allows these petitions to be answered according to faith.
As the desert blooms and daisies grace the hillside after a summer rain, know that the Holy Spirit within you can flower anytime the river of grace stirs within your heart. Always within you, the Holy Spirit can burst forth with the same “energy” as a blast from a water cannon. Simple pools of water when “pushed” by a force can impact the environment and so can you.
Pope Paul VI said that “no amount of religious education or listening to sermons would enable a person to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. It is a direct infusion of the Holy Spirit–involving a release of the power already present in the soul but until then, relatively untapped”.
In 1973 Pope Paul VI said that the Holy Spirit was coming to awaken the Church, to stir up forgotten charisms and to bring the same vitality and joy that had kept the Church youthful and up-to-date. He said this kind of thing is a part of the history of the Church and is how the Church has been able to proclaim its eternal message. He told us that Pentecost is not a distant event but a continual one. The Church lives because the Holy Spirit pours in divine grace.
Pope Paul VI compared the divine grace to a fountain. The effect is like a supernatural ‘fountain of youth’ pouring into the visible, social and human body of Christ’s followers. “By the power of the Gospel,” the Holy Spirit “makes the Church keep the freshness of youth and constantly renews it… In a fountain, the jet of water remains high, lively and fresh as long as it is fed by the forcing current of water, even though the water itself falls and is spread over the plain.”
Do you wonder why churches need anything at all since God is the Great Provider? The continuous need for financing in the ministry of the Word of the Lamb shows the need for the Word to be in the hearts of all men, for when the fullness of the Word expounds in the lives of men there will be no ‘need’—all will offer what they have to continue the work of the Lord in this time of mankind.
Paul wrote in 2 Cor 8:12-15 “For if the eagerness is there, it is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have; not that others should have relief while you are burdened, but that as a matter of equality your surplus at the present time should supply their needs, so that their surplus may also supply your needs, that there may be equality. As it is written: “Whoever had much did not have more, and whoever had little did not have less.”
Here is a little story the Lord shared with me. The kingdom of God was sought by two men—one who tithed and one who did not. The man who did not, spent his income on many things to save time in his life — but he never had any time to spend in prayer with God. He spent his income on trips and sports events, and entertainment vacations, but he always returned home tired and full of ways to make it better next time, and there remained a longing for happiness. The man who tithed, never put his job before the Lord, and amazingly, he had time to pray, and study the bible. The man who tithed was filled with Joy, and received the grace to work through every problem that arose, and so he lived in Peace. The man who was selfish never found the Lord, and when he died, his children fought over their inheritance and were fill with anger that the government taxed what they felt they deserved. And the man who tithed died, and gave his children the inheritance of the Kingdom of God!
Are you failing to receive the magnitude of the Lord’s supplies because you don’t want to share a full portion with others? Is this why is there need in the world and in our churches?
The more you give the more you shall have to give. And I’m not talking just about money. Continue to seek the needs of the ‘needy’—the weak and the poor—this is good. Next, look to those who share Truth. The truth will set free those in darkness. The light dawns on those who accept truth.
Our God is a jealous God, and gold is the false god of TOO many, even those who call themselves Christians. They put their trust in themselves and in their false god. God has provided an abundance in your lives because you trust Him and spend what He has provided with wisdom and a generous heart to the poor and to the mission of the Church. You do not need to take care of every need. Trust God for that.
However, He has called you to a specific mission and to bless His servants from time to time to provide sufficient funds in ample timing that they may know God’s will. Fortune is used by many to assess power and prestige. God’s servants use fortunes for the Glory of His Name. Continue to set aside a tithe.
The devil enters mankind when invited and turns against innocence with a vague idea of victory. True victory is witnessed by the cross. It is not won by trampling the lives of children.
As you continue to ponder all your financial decisions know that a greater reward than all this awaits you in God’s kingdom.
The desert is filled with the thirsty. Give them the Living Water and they shall be healed; they shall be refreshed. And the kingdom of God shall enter the hearts free from fear, free from sin and death. The kingdom of God provides not just hope but everlasting joy as love envelops their very soul.
Remember this: Many expect to be rescued, they expect for the “world” to revolve around them in their needs. Others, without hope, expect nothing and they receive nothing. Then there are those who trust in God for everything and are willing to be used by God to provide for the needs of others. The servant who steps forward in this way allows the Lord to touch many, provide for many. Moses, Daniel, David, Samuel, Paul, Peter, the list goes on. Many in scripture show the example; many called “saints in heaven” also have done this. Obedient servants whose heart burns for the Lord, to these does the Holy Spirit stir into flame the grace He bestows upon all.
As day turns to night and joy turns to sorrow, reach out and light the lamp—for the lamp is a symbol of sharing the Light of Christ and of the presence of God. The lamp shines through the darkness and restores peace and joy. You have been given the oil—the fuel—the knowledge of the presence of God. It is available to all in the Word of the Lord written tirelessly, seamlessly in scripture. Light your lamp and put it on the hillside.
As your tiredness needs refreshing so do the others who minister in the Kingdom of God. As winter dissolves and spring breaks through, so shall the Spirit breakthrough hardened hearts. Just as nature finds a way to expose itself in the new growth of the person, so shall the Holy Spirit rise up—like sap—in the hearts and minds of God’s people. Do not distress; take comfort people of God, take joy. For nature is a shadow, an image of the working of God and so shall the fruitfulness of summer show the fruitfulness of those who have turned their hearts and minds unto the Lord their God.
As you look out upon the view from your window you see the world operating in its routine, buying and selling, birthing and dying, educating and drifting, watching TV and learning to dwell together in community. How often do the people look to the Lord? God is the source of all life. God is the source of all goodness. God is the source of all provision—yet, people rely on themselves, they rely on the marketers and the sellers, they rely on the deceivers. Who is the King of Glory? How shall you call Him? He is Wonderful, Counselor, King of the Universe, Provider, Answerer of all Questions. Rely on the God who created You. Call upon the Name of the most high Son of God, Jesus, Christ, anointed over all the earth. His Name is above all names.
What is our cost in the abundant supply stores of the Kingdom of God? It is our ‘yes’. It is our fiat like that of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In the Gospel of Matthew the first message of Jesus was “Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand.” His message after establishing Peter as head of the Church was “Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.” The final message that Jesus gave was, “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
Will you pay the price? Will you say ‘yes’ to God?
