The Gift of Living in the Divine Will of the Father; For audio only PPN;
Truth of the Spirit with Patti Brunner episode “The Gift of Living in the Divine Will of the Father” shares introductory information about Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta and her private revelations about the Divine Will of the Father. When you accept the Will of the Father, even difficulties can be embraced for a season. When you step out in faith, the world can be changed by your own obedience to the Will of the Father. You do not lose your individual nature — any more than a finger ceases to be a finger since it is part of the body — sharing common the blood that also feeds and flows throughout the body. There is no constriction in the perfection of the Union. Lives will be saved as you choose obedience to the Will of the Father.

I have heard it said that the next great move of God in the world shall be the Gift of Living in the Divine Will of God. And that it is comparable to the gift of Divine Mercy which provides salvation, that the Gift of Living in the Divine Will shall provide sanctification. These gifts are ours for the asking and the willingness to receive them.
Our Lord Jesus Christ spoke to the Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta, who died in 1947, teaching her about the gift of Living in the Divine Will. Luisa is currently in the process of canonization and her writings and journals have received Vatican approval.
In 1938, Luisa wrote these words of the Lord: “My good daughter(Luisa), it is very easy to enter My Will, since your Jesus never teaches difficult things. My Love makes me adapt to human capabilities, so that the creature can do, with no difficulty, what I teach and what I want. You (Luisa) must know that the first indispensable thing in order to enter My Fiat is wanting and firmly yearning to Live in It. The second thing is to take the first step since, once the first step is done, My Divine Will surrounds the creature with so much Light and attraction that she loses any desire to do her own will. In fact, as soon as she takes a step she feels Powerful. The night of passions, weaknesses, miseries is turned into Day—into Divine Strength; so she feels the irresistible need to take the second step, which calls for the third one, the fourth, the fifth and so on.”
The Lord continued to speak to her and said, “These are the steps of the Light that embellishes the creature, Sanctifies her and makes her Happy; that puts her on the right way, making her similar to her Creator; to the extent that, not only does she feel the extreme need to Live in My Will, but she also feels It as inseparable from herself as her own life. See then, how easy it is. But wanting is necessary.”
At the end of this episode, we’ll pray with you for the gift of Living in Divine Will.
Welcome to Truth of the Spirit, I’m your host, Patti Brunner. As we share information with you today about “The Gift of Living in the Divine Will of the Father” we hope that you, too, will accept the avenue to sanctification that can be yours by the generous gift of grace.
The way Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta puts it, it seems pretty easy. After all, in the “Our Father” prayer that Jesus taught us in scripture, we always pray at the beginning, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Yet, we are living in a world where the Father’s will seems absent in the hearts of mankind as witnessed by our current culture. So what is the catch? Is it the same ‘catch’ as asking for the great charisms of the Holy Spirit—surrender, surrender of your freewill to the Lord?
The tears of past choices are washed away by the Blood of the Lamb of God. Forever shall He reign; forever shall the King of Glory come. The fear that envelops the world is the fear of losing control: control of life, of liberty of health, of peace, of finances, of relationships, of life itself as manifested daily. Do not fear “losing control”! When you surrender your life to God you freely place your heart and choice in His hands where Jesus, who loves and knows what is best for you, puts you on the pathway to life. When you accept the Will of the Father, even difficulties can be embraced for a season. When you step out in faith, the world can be changed by your own obedience to the Will of the Father. So when the Lord says, ‘Fear not’, remember that these are words to live by. Lives will be saved as you choose obedience to the Will of the Father.
When you go before the Lord with a humble heart, relying on the word of the Lord, accepting truth, you shall find that doing God’s will is an easy path despite difficulties that might arise.
When you follow his commands the inner strength to do God’s will increases.
Indeed, see sin for what it is — a separation from the perfect will of the Father. The “venial” sin does not remove the relationship, but it points out how self is still in control of daily life. As you are one in Jesus, even these small issues shall melt away as you are one. You do not lose your individual nature — any more than a finger ceases to be a finger since it is part of the body — sharing common the blood that also feeds and flows throughout the body. There is no constriction in the perfection of the Union.
As the sand of time drifts through your life indeed you shall know the depth of God’s love and you shall know the freedom of the Promised Land. In the encouragement of the day that the Lord has made, you shall receive power from above—this power shall be used for the freedom, the healing of many. As you voice—as you speak out—the glory of God it shall be so. The eternal kingdom awaits those who call on the Name of the Lord and receive him as Lord. The difference is not an act of FAITH but of surrender. Many believe that God is real; they believe that Jesus is the Savior—the angels “believe”.
The angels who turned away from God, believed in God. What they lacked was surrender to the Will of God.
Forget not the underlying cause of the gifts of Grace: Love. As Jesus sends forth the Spirit into your life know this first: He loves you. Know this: the kingdom on earth as it is in heaven shall be done according to the will of the Father. It is done. As time unfolds you shall see this and many shall thus believe. Blessed are those who believe yet who cannot see with their personal eyes only with the spiritual. Continue to seek the Lord. Continue to lift your family to the Lord.
Allow the Lord to give you a new urgency to do whatever you can to change the hearts of those who have abandoned Him, who have drifted away. Use me Lord! Prompt me, O Holy Spirit to do the will of the Father. Encourage me without relenting until I fulfill it. Look not upon my weakness and sinfulness but set me in the right path. Quench distractions and ‘sidebars’, give me supernatural ability to be effective. O my Jesus, how I love you and your people! Guide me O Holy Spirit! Father, release me from every stumbling block. I ask all this in the glorious Name of my savior, my Lord, my King, Jesus the Christ, the son of God, son of man!
Seek not to judge the actions of others. As you continue to love them as Jesus does, your judgments will be less frequent. As you love as God does, you shall be stirred to help them in prayer and in speaking and teach in the truth, but you also shall know that you cannot hold them accountable for their ignorance. The Lord’s leaders, on the other hand, must be aware of the Way and when they look aside for self it can be a grave issue; not always but can be. Be your own student as you teach. Take to heart the words of instruction that you share. The last verse of John chapter 3 says, “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him.”
The heavenly hosts exclaim, ‘Hosanna! To the King! Forever and ever!’ The Lord calls us to speak not of the despair of man but lift up the hearts to his fullness. For in the Way of the Cross there is life, there is hope. In the tradition of the Church there are examples of saints to follow, in the course of nature there is proof that God exists. And in the hearts of man there is freedom as the presence of God truly dwells there forever and ever more.
More than you can understand, more than the angels in heaven, man has been created to share the glory of God. Come. Come into the Lord’s heart and rest. Take up your cross, yes, embrace it, and find freedom. Salvation is yours, O people, O Jerusalem. It has been won by the Cross, by the Blood of the Lamb.
As the winds of hurricanes blow, as tropical breezes kiss the sands and the palm leaves, so too does God’s grace enter the hearts of his people, affecting them in similar ways. Whenever you start the day, give God glory as you dedicate the day to the Lord Almighty.
When the grace steps aside and despair is felt, it is the swampy mire, not the firm path, that causes distress. The Lord calls us to reach out to those who have fallen from grace, fallen from the firm path, and indeed the intrinsic joy of the Lord.
Wash the mire from their feet, sew their garments and lend them treasure. What is the Lord’s is also the rights of those in the kingdom—inherited by the “legal” heir. There is more than enough. What one takes or receives does not diminish the remainder at all. Taking a grain of sand from the beach or a drop of water from the ocean—do these diminish the remainder? No, indeed it does not.
Truth is constant, but the daily choices of life affect even the tiniest of creatures. Indeed, the Lord’s plan is in place yet the avenues open to man are varied and abundant. Only the turning away from God will thwart the Father’s love. The perfect will of the Father is for you to love and be loved. Who do you love?
Deliberate actions call for deliberate motives, carried through with a deliberate strategy.
To learn more about the Blessed Servant Luisa Piccarreta and her revelations about the gift of living in the Divine Will of the Father I suggest you check out Daniel O’Connor. He has created YouTube videos and websites with portions of her books and information about Luisa. “The Crown of History is completely free as 7 hour audio book on YouTube. For those who desire something shorter, Daniel posted the YouTube “Luisa in Nine Minutes”. Fr. Mark Goring posted a great joint video with Daniel about Luisa that is about an hour.
In it Fr. Mark Goring says,“In Luisa’s revelation she speaks about how before the fall of Adam and Eve there was this living the Divine Will. The human will of Adam and Eve was perfectly conformed and surrendered and in harmony with the Divine Will of God. The Divine Will was lived in them and that was lost through the disobedience of Adam and Eve and what Luisa speaks of is the restoration of the Divine Will in us and with this comes, that peace, that heavenly joy, that restoration of the harmony of the soul, the union of the soul, the heavenly peace of the soul that existed before the fall and this is the promise, “thy kingdom come, thy will be done”.”
In sharing with us and Fr. Mark, Daniel O’Connor said: “Holiness consists in getting out of God’s way. He’s the one doing the work in us. …We don’t cause our own sanctity by our own effort, as important as our effort is. ”
“He (God) is always telling Luisa, this is easy. I want to give you this gift of my will, the gift that contains all other gifts. It contains perfect peace and joy and happiness and everything else.”
Luisa was born & baptized on 2nd Sunday of Easter, now named Divine Mercy Sunday.
“If you look at scripture there are two things that we know are always God’s will: He always wills Salvation and he always wills Sanctification. He wants us to get to heaven and he wants us to be as glorified in heaven as possible.”
Daniel O’Connor said “I see (St.) Faustina’s revelations as God’s final effort of salvation and I see Luisa’s revelations as God’s final effort of sanctification…and that being said, there is still complete overlapping.”
Pope Saint John Paul II canonized St. Annibale Di Fancia, one of Luisa’s confessors, in May 2004. Father Annibale , also called St. Hannibal, met with Luisa for 17 years, from 1910 until his death in 1927. He was the first to begin publishing Luisa’s journals, which are written records of her experiences with the Lord. The first was “The Hours of The Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ,” which she wrote around the year 1913. These revelations of Luisa share the experiences of each of 24 hours of Jesus’ passion from the time he leaves his mother. Daniel O’Connor has said “There are so many promises also that Jesus gave Luisa that go along with that. He even promised the salvation of a soul for every word you meditate on in those hours of the passion. Jesus said a whole city could be protected from chastisements if the (24 hours) passion would be meditated upon.” Editions of her books bear the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur.
Daniel O’Connor says that “Pope Saint John Paul II also made his own, this insistence of Saint Hannibal, that there’s this new and divine holiness. These are St. John Paul II’s own words: “that God wishes to enrich Christians with a new and divine holiness at the dawn of the third millennium to make Christ the heart of the world.”
To ask for the gift of Living in God’s Divine Will there is no specific prayer. Rather it is the disposition of your heart as you pray.
Fr. Mark Goring said that Luisa has written for us to pray it in our own words. Fr. Mark says, “When you get up in the morning tell the Lord in your own words, “Lord, I want to do your will today. I want your Divine Will to animate me today and start your day like that every day.”
Daniel O’Connor recommends, “When you can, sit in front of the Eucharist and the tabernacle, even better exposed, in the monstrance and kneel there or sit there and just put everything there in front of Him, everything, your family, your worries, all your plans, just dump it all there on the floor and say, “Jesus this is all yours.”
He invites us to pray this: [sign of the cross] “In the Divine Will, O Lord, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we come before you as your humble and unworthy servants but asking for your grace, to know your will, to do your will but above all to live in your will. We give you everything Lord. We cast the pebble of our self-wills into the infinite ocean of your Divine Mercy of your Divine Will. We give our freedom, our autonomy, all our worries, all our cares, all our anxieties, all our plans, all our attachments; we give it all to You to do with as You will. We do not need to know it; all we need to know is that we do your will. We desire your will alone. We want to fuse all of our members with yours, our will with yours, so that your will may be accomplished in us as it is in heaven. Jesus, I trust in You. I give You my will. Please give me yours in return. I promise to do and live in only your will from this moment forward. Amen.”
