Truth of the Spirit hosted by Patti Brunner shares God’s wisdom and healing of rejection through the charism of prophecy. Basically, rejection is rooted in a child’s desire to be loved and approved. Earthly parents know not what they do as they fail to show love to their children. However, rejection is not a lack of love—it is a lack of truth. There is a lot of pain in our hearts based on rejection: rejection by co-workers, friends, by family, even our parents. I heard a sermon at mass this week by a priest in Abu Dhabi on the other side of the world. He spoke of our natural desire to be popular and how sometimes being a Christian was not very popular. This was an affirmation of today’s episode. When I first started in broadcasting I heard the Lord say something that is for you, too. “You cannot please man. Know this. You will never be enough. Accept this. Now, quit worrying about it. Even Jesus could not please man, and he is enough! You have let go of many things in your walk with Me. [The Lord said] You have picked up a few of them again. Lay down your desires and let me pick them up. Lay down your burdens and let me carry them. Lay down your joy, your love and let me magnify them.”
Speaking about rejection, the Lord then said, “Your difficulties lie in a child’s desire to be loved and approved. This is common to all—it is a direct result of the fall of Adam. As Adam felt rejected—so do all. The Father never ‘rejected’ Adam though. It was the other way around. Sin distorts truth. Look at Genesis—see the love the Father gave to Adam and how he helped him survive. So, too, the loving Father helps all his children. The rescue by Jesus is the greatest act of love. How can the children think God rejected them?! Earthly parents know not what they do as they fail to show love to their children. However, rejection is not a lack of love—it is a lack of truth.” Be sure and listen to the end of this episode for a special prayer for you for healing.

Hardness of heart is caused by pain and rejection; the base of arrogance is pain and defiance to vulnerability—Hardness of heart that runs through a family is also overcome by love in the family. Love can melt the hardness. The everlasting light of the Kingdom of God can operate like a laser to cut away darkness and to mend the gape. Sometimes, when Light shines on an area, the ugliness is so repulsive that you pull deeper into darkness. Psychological disorders can then result—sometimes to protect the mind; sometimes because destruction of the mind has taken place. The Lord calls us to gentleness.
The truth will set you free. People have not heard truth even though it has been taught to them. Today, we will seek to open our hearts to know how much God loves us. How do we do that? Resurrection power! Jesus overcame the fear of suffering and death. Jesus overcame the fear of ridicule and rejection. He stepped out of the acceptable norm to do what was just and what pleased the Father. He did not judge others but always treated them even the ‘public’ sinners with love and compassion. True, he did speak bluntly to those who closed their hearts and minds to the truth. But even this bluntness did not sharpen the senses of those whose hearts were set against him. The Way of the Cross exhibits …denial of Jesus (by) his friends and ‘Church’ leaders. However, Rejection is overcome by the Blood of the Lamb.
Jesus overcame to heal, to drive out demons, and to manifest God’s glory. He demonstrated God’s kingdom on earth and taught you to pray each day for the kingdom to be manifested “on earth as it is in heaven”. This day was made by the Lord, rejoice in it and be glad, for today the Lord is placing truth in your hearts. And truth will set you free.
Ask the Holy Spirit to stir into flame the grace that was bestowed upon you at baptism and confirmation. The glory of the Lord shall be upon you and you shall be changed. Desire the Lord, for today He shall be yours. Desire the Lord, above all things with your whole heart, your whole mind, your whole soul and all this shall be given unto you. The power of the Most high created the world, the stars, the universe, grasshoppers and frogs, and you—the Lord God can create for you a clean heart—turn to Him and you shall know his power, his glory, his grace. Turn to Him and you shall become harvesters for the Kingdom of God. Lives will be touched and generations shall be saved. It is the Will of the Lord. The Lord speaks his great commission. Accept it and be blessed. Accept it and bring the joy of the Lord into the hearts of the captives and they also shall be free. Joy is great to win battles; it is a tool of the Lord to destroy the plots of the enemy. The enemy seeks to destroy your joy. He will not.
The joy of the Lord is my comfort
The joy of the Lord is my rod.
The joy of the Lord is mine to give
The joy of the Lord allows me to live
Seek ye first the kingdom of God.
When you are the person in pain -whether from physical, emotional or spiritual- the answer is written in the scripture; just as Jesus wrote in the dust when questioned about the adulterous woman and then said: go and sin no more. The Lord your God came to save you from sin and this is the first and foremost act of healing. All else can be tolerated for the kingdom’s benefit. All things can work for good for those called by the Lord. Do not fret when infirmity appears to have the upper hand. It is all in God’s hand. What is allowed is thus available to bring the need to the forefront thus a greater good can be available to those who cry out in their need to God.
The Lord also desires joy, peace and happiness in this life in order to show the promise to be fulfilled in the next. Medical treatment is generally a gift from God. The healing of a believer or through a believer is definitely a gift from God. Ask, ask, ask! His Grace makes all things new. It solves the issue of rejection and limitation of grace thus limitation of healing.
Paul advises the Philippians chapter 4: “Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Finally,” the scripture says, “brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me. Then the God of peace will be with you.”
Are any of you wondering, “How did I come across this episode?” You are not here by accident. God supplied an overwhelming amount of grace for you to be here. He called you to listen. You are a part of God’s plan for salvation. “God is calling you to make a decision: A decision for life not death. He gave you freewill. It is your decision. The choices you make today can change your life, they can change the lives of your friends, your entire generation. Are you going to run from God because what he offers you today looks different from what modern culture offers?
Has the devil, ole furnace boy, been preparing you with lies? Has he been telling you that God is nothing? It’s not true! God is everything. Did satan tell you that you are nothing? That’s a lie! You are God’s unique creation and a part of his plan for salvation. Did satan tell you that what you choose “doesn’t hurt” anyone? I bet he told Adam & Eve the same thing. And look where their decision got us.
Satan can see that your generation is to be favored by God. That you have been called by God to something so awesome that Satan is running scared. He has been working uniquely for 45 years to destroy you. 61 million of your generation were destroyed in America by abortion since 1973. In 2019 rejection of a child by abortion is the #1 cause of death in America and worldwide, killing 42 million people. Countless others have been destroyed by choosing drugs, alcohol and suicide. The little demon is seeking to destroy your family by divorce and pornography, and promiscuity. Satan is afraid of you and he’s trying to destroy you just like he tried to destroy Christ. But he didn’t understand the scripture “If God is for you who can be against?” Satan is nothing but an irritating fly to swat away. The next time he pesters you with his lies, just ‘shoo’ him away. Say, “In the name of Jesus I command you to leave now.” And he has to leave! He is nothing. Scripture tells us that he tries only to “steal, kill, and destroy.” But God sent Jesus to give us life, “a more abundant life”, a life that will be for all eternity more than you could ever dream, imagine or hope for.
You have freewill and can spend your life in fear: fear of rejection, fear of dying, fear of failure; or you can spend your life fearing only God, caring only how He might judge your actions. You can spend your life afraid of the fullness of spirituality that God is calling you to today; or, you can taste the goodness of the Lord. You can run from God, denying that call, even denying God—or, you can take a deep breath and try it. Your life will never be the same. Mine is not. Don’t just trust my word for it. Try the banquet of God for yourselves. Surrender your life to the Lord. Open your heart to him. The more you give of yourself to God, the stronger you become in power and grace—his power and grace. It is by giving that you receive. When you surrender your life to Christ, when you lay it down before him, that’s when heaven and earth are one.
Laying your life down includes laying down all the rejection you feel now and have felt in the past. Laying down your life before the Lord also calls you to forgive those who have rejected you or caused you to feel rejected in any way. Forgiveness is perhaps the most powerful act of freewill available to mankind—that and choosing to follow Christ. The Lord gave me this prayer to heal the brokenhearted. Say it with me:
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come to you at this moment realizing that many things that we have done, and many things that have affected us have caused us pain, suffering, and a loss of innocence.
We open our hearts to You and ask You to heal us.
Now, I invite you to Respond with me: forgive them, forgive us, heal us.
- For the times our parents have hurt us; [RSP] forgive them, forgive us, heal us.
- For the times lies have caused harm; [RSP] forgive them, forgive us, heal us.
- For rejection; [RSP] forgive them, forgive us, heal us.
- For doubt and lack of trust; [RSP] forgive them, forgive us, heal us.
- For bad choices; [RSP] forgive them, forgive us, heal us.
- For the effect of untimely deaths; [RSP] forgive them, forgive us, heal us.
- For words spoken in anger; [RSP] forgive them, forgive us, heal us.
- For the one thing that has hurt us the most –Now I want you to spend some time remembering, let the Lord call it to mind, then write it on the palm of your hand with your finger, then lift your hand to Christ…

Matthew chapter 4:23 “Jesus went around all of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and curing every disease and illness among the people.”
1 John, chapter 5, says “Faith is Victory over the World.
Matthew chapter 17,verse 20, Jesus says: “Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Thank you, Jesus, by your obedience to the will of the Father, even unto death, death on a cross, you have set us free. By your stripes we are healed! We invite you to fill us with your Holy Spirit. We accept your grace. We accept your joy. We accept your peace.
Blessed is the name of the Lord who made heaven and earth, who heals the brokenhearted, who loves us so much. Amen.
